Open Door (5778)

The Jewish New Year 5778 (which started 24 Sept 2017) is very significant to us as a ministry. If you look at the meaning of each number and its association to each Hebrew letter and picture that it produces, the number five signifies grace, seven perfection, completion, or maturity and eight a new beginning. The year 5778 is rooted in the ‘78’ portion, where 70 is represented by the Hebrew letter Ayin, which signifies the season we are in. Ayin means eye in Hebrew, which implies an opportunity for increased sight. The number 8 is represented by the Hebrew letter Chet. Chet means door – more precisely an open door or doorway of light from heaven. It is a number that represents new beginnings, which is basically an open door to a new season.1

For us, this essentially means there is an anointing for those who expectantly embrace the new beginning with their eyes fixed on the Lord. It’s a year to close out those things that have come to an end. It’s vital to first ‘finish your outdoor work’ because only then can you ‘build your house’ (Prov 24:27). Elisha only received Elijah’s mantle because He saw him taken up in a whirlwind into heaven. Elijah said, “Yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not” (2 Kings 2:10). Elisha’s decision to keep his eyes fixed on his master is what got him the double portion. We too need to set our eyes to see the new thing that God is doing and take up the opportunity presented to us for greater blessings.

The Doorway

Since the year 5778 began, there has been intensified warfare in the spirit realm against those who are advancing the kingdom of God. Yet, we don’t have to fear the darkness because the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness doesn’t overcome it (John 1:5). Remember that chet referred to a doorway of light from heaven being opened. Jesus is that light (John 12:46) and He has imparted that light to us. Ephesians 5:8-9: For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true.”

We are light-bearers. It is the task of all believers to pass on this divine light, which we have received. Our lives should be a shining light as a witness to the world… thus sharing and being partners in the gospel.

Baruch Pethach Adonai

AIM-Reformation 5778 will embrace the Hebrew words Baruch, Pethach and Adonai in this new season. Baruch means blessing, Pethach means open doorway and Adonai Lord or Master. “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.” Hebrews 3:3

Jesus is the high priest of our calling. He is also an apostle because the Father sent him on an undertaking and He has also sent us. The apostolic commission comes with great responsibility and as a task force, we are to take spiritual authority. To be in authority one first has to be under authority. In Genesis 1:28 we are told amongst other things to subdue the earth and have dominion.

Revelation 4:1-7

Revelation 4:1-7
After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. From the throne appeared flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, and before the throne, there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight.
